Gutter brightening is a chemical treatment that removes oxidation discoloration, stains, and tiger striping from aluminum gutter systems to restore their original appearance.
Aluminum gutters develop visible oxidation stains and dark streaks (commonly called tiger stripes) over months or years of exposure to weather, moisture, and UV rays. Gutter brightening is the process of applying specialized chemical cleaners to the gutter face to dissolve and lift these stains, returning the aluminum to a cleaner, brighter appearance.
The process differs from routine gutter cleaning, which removes leaves and debris from inside the gutter channel. Brightening targets the outer surfaces where discoloration accumulates, particularly on the visible fascia-facing side.
